eTuner App Reviews

13 Customer Reviews:

Unfortunately calibration is limited to something between 430Hz and 450Hz, which makes it useless to me. I need a tuner with a range of 380-480Hz, roughly. For people in the historical performance practice the most important criteria. Maybe something for an update? Ill put in a few extra stars...

Functional but Ugly

It works well, but the interface could use a touch-up.

Seems pretty accurate, and no crashes so far. The only thing I would change is the appearance... as you can tell from the screenshots, it sure aint pretty!

Dont turn to this app as a standard for aesthetics, but do turn to it for what it is: a well-designed and accurate tuner. Fast launch, stable, easy to use and very handy.

Its just a tunner...there are many free ones out there that are much more acurate and look better. This needs alot of volume to even work. if it was 10 cents it might be worth having and taking hard drive space. even as a guitar tunner its way over priced priced.

Very slow at picking up pitches

Accurate but slow and will not work too well with a built in mic on a computer.

I use this with my students and it works fine. I dont find it to take a long time like other reveiwers have found. Also, the input level is adjustable right on the interface... horns thru a MacBook Pro mic seem to pic up fine. My students do not have trouble understanding the interface.

When you figure that a hand-held electronic tuner will cost roughly $30, this is a bargain. Its easy to use, accurate, and it doesnt take a lot of volume to operate it, even using the mic on a MacBook. Its very easy to pop my MacBook open and tune up, even from across a stage.

I was having problems with eTuner reading my built in mic, but after a few exchanged emails with their support team the problem was resolved very quickly. If you have Snow Leopard and your mic is giving you problems, you may need to change the sample rate in Audio MIDI Setup > Built-in Input > Format to 44.1kHz instead of 16kHz. They informed me that this bug will be fixed in the next update. eTuner is simple and effective, and a great alternative to a pocket tuner.

Doesnt Work

Just doesnt work the way it should. Take some notes from Polytune… They are the only ones who got it right but you cant but it for mac.

Good luck trying to use this when the window that you choose the input is broken, too small to see the input choices, this is a serious BUG, I want my money back immediately, This software is complete crap, AND A SCAM!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! I WANT A REFUND!!

eTuner

Tuned my dulcimer in less than 5 minutes. Simple to use. Worked well with internal microphone on my MacBook Air.
